Normanton Food Bank, the first charity to benefit from evo Foundation.

evo Foundation has completed its first charitable donation, giving £500 per month to local food bank based in Normanton.

Part of the well project, Normanton Food Bank gives back to Normanton and the wider communities in Wakefield. Providing much-needed supplies to those that are referred from various support services, such as medical referral, social services, counsellors, and other professional services.

It costs approximately £500 to feed 40 families of four for one week. evo Foundation will donate £500 per month, meaning 100s of Normanton-based families will be reached by the evo Foundation donation throughout the remainder of 2024.

The well project is much more than just a food bank. Giving back to all ages within the community, YOUTHY has been established to give young people within the community a safe space to go on an evening, whilst educating them with dance, cooking, exercise classes and much more.

Following a recent visit to the well project, evo Foundation Trustee, Leanne Gregg comments, “Having read recently that over 655,000 people in 2023/24 used a food bank for the first time, my recent visit to the food bank clearly showcased how our local community depends on the well project. Which makes evo Foundation and other charitable trusts, supporting local initiatives like this, as important than ever.”

With 50 volunteers, the well project goes over and above for their families, offering support in the form of financial guidance, isolation care and even the opportunity to provide sexual health essentials.

More recently, the well project commenced a bike initiative, collecting unwanted bikes and providing them to members of the community who require a means of travel to and from work during unsociable hours, when public transport might not be running.

evo Foundation looks forward to continuing supporting our local communities, we are currently in the process of helping an Irish-based food bank as well as Lutterworth, more information to follow soon.
