New evo charity launches with an epic 274-mile trek – The Walk of evo

evo Foundation, the newly launched evo charity, is pleased to announce its first fundraising event – The Walk of evo.

The 274-mile trek takes place from 23rd October 2023 and equates to 10 marathons in 10 days. Steve Smith, evo’s Operations Director, is taking on the entire 10-day walk between evo’s UK locations and will be joined by evo colleagues from all the evo businesses – Vow Wholesale, Banner, Complete and Premier Vanguard.

The ‘Walk of evo’ route will see them reach key milestones in Sheffield, Lutterworth, Aston, Bradford, Leeds and Normanton. These are all communities where evo has a significant presence.

All donations raised will support the evo Foundation, a new independent charity committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals throughout the UK. The charity has two core objectives at its heart – the advancement of education and the prevention of poverty.

Andrew Gale, evo CEO / Trustee and founder of the evo Foundation, says, “The idea here is to help people across the UK with the cost of education, and support them when they fall on hard times.

“The focus on education is deliberate – education is so important, it unlocks so many opportunities, but unfortunately the costs can deter talented young people from reaching their full potential. I come from a generation that could get grants to go to university, the youngsters of today are not so lucky. The evo Foundation will offer help with tuition, equipment, and travel costs.

“We also appreciate that for many families and communities, financial pressures can be acute. Again, if we can help, we will do what we can.

“That’s why we have launched this new charity and this is the first of many events to come. We are hoping that many colleagues, customers, suppliers and communities will join in to help us raise funds. All the evo senior team will be involved and the evo top team will be walking the last leg from the Endless Leeds office to evo Normanton on 1st November as part of our 274-mile long relay hike this October.”

The Walk of evo took place from 23rd October to 1st November 2023.
